On request by industry the organisers of the symposium have combined the previous two separate modules into one to be held from 30 September to 4 October 2019 (the original dates for module 2).  The symposium still covers all the lifecycle phases of track infrastructure, from identification of the need for a new line or the upgrading of an existing line, the feasibility study, project management and infrastructure design with a particular focus on maintenance. Attendees will gain practical hands-on knowledge of track material- functions, designs, properties, applicable standards, methods of measuring compliance, deterioration rates and typical defects and their causes.  Maintenance intervals, maintenance intervention limits, best practices, maintenance methods, maintenance standards and mechanised maintenance machinery and much more will be covered in this intense 5 day symposium. The lectures are presented by highly qualified, experienced and respected specialists in their respective fields
